OK, shameless plug alert, but when I come across a business that does it’s job very well, I want to tell you about them.
Last summer, my daughter attended a camp down at Cedar Creek Lake by the name of Ski n Skats, it had been in operation for years and came highly recommended. My daughter had a great time and had planned on returning this summer. Events out of the owners control forced Ski N Skats to close this spring and left us scrambling trying to find her a camp to attend.
After some searching and talking to different people, my wife and I found Kickapoo Kamp in Kerrville. Only problem, they were totally booked for the summer. A few emails to the Kamp Director and she was able to squeeze my 8 year old in.
This Kamp has been in operation since 1925, and I would guess that 75% of the girls there were return kampers. My daughter had the time of her life and is signed up to attend next year as well. They have everything from horseback riding to water skiing. Most of the counselors were kampers at one time in their life at Kickapoo.
There was one little girl there and she was the fourth generation to attend Kickapoo, something you don’t see much of around here.
If you have a daughter and would like a well run kamp to send her to, think about Kickapoo, but you better plan ahead.
(Yes, I know I spelled camp with a k, it was done on purpose)
