Stephanie Sandoval of the Dallas Morning News has an article on blogging politicians this morning:

Dallas Council Member Angela Hunt is listed in the article as another blogger. But since Angela doesn’t allow public comments, I don’t count her work as a blog. We already have a word for one-way communication by politicians—it’s called campaigning.

Blogging is a way for everyone to know what everyone else is saying. When commenters challenge my reasoning on this site, everyone gets to read both the challenge and my response. Angela’s email-only style enables her to tell each of her constituents exactly what they want to hear, if she chooses.

Also, I didn’t make it clear when speaking to Stephanie that other authors post on this blog. The two personal stories she mentioned were not mine.

Here are some samples of my “sometimes edgier than need be” posts:

The Ditch Thickens
DHMO (Response to Laura Miller)
If my hero is Ronald Reagan, why am I against tax freezes?

Here’s proof that the most interesting topics are often raised in the comments of an otherwise boring post:

Why I’m against entertainment in the library.
